This spacious bunny enclosure comfortably accommodates 2-3 rabbits, providing ample room for their daily activities. Its top-opening lid ensures convenient access for interacting with your furry friends, while the front door allows for easy opening and closing. This enclosure not only offers a secure space but also promotes your bunnies’ independence and mobility, as they quickly learn to hop in and out.
It’s important to note that this enclosure is best suited as a safe haven, akin to a bedroom for your bunnies. While it offers sufficient space, it’s essential to allow your bunnies at least 3-4 hours of playtime outside of it each day. This enclosure is ideal for apartment-dwellers considering bunnies as pets, given their quiet and litterbox trainable nature. In my opinion, it provides the perfect sanctuary for your bunnies, encompassing their needs for eating, sleeping, resting, and yes, even the inevitable poop!
While some argue that bunnies don’t require enclosures, I believe they are necessary for keeping your pets safe when you’re not home. Bunnies can be mischievous, and a secure space prevents them from getting into trouble.
Cleaning this enclosure is a breeze – simply use plain white vinegar to dissolve urine stains in the plastic bottom. Let it soak for a bit and then rinse. This method is more hygienic than wooden cages that can absorb urine. Additionally, the cage easily collapses and can be transported, making it convenient for travel, such as camping trips with your bunny.
I’d like to mention that the artificial grass mat provided is safe for your bunnies, but if they excessively gnaw on it, consider using a different bedding substrate. I prefer the artificial grass because it’s easy to clean with a quick vacuum and a soak in vinegar water, followed by drying in the sun. You can also purchase an extra mat for R200. Just be cautious that the artificial grass can get hot in direct sunlight, so ensure it’s shaded when your bunny is using it.
This cage is also suitable for guinea pigs, the burgess rabbit pellets can just be swopped out for guinea pig burgess pellets.
